Houston show

We played in Houston last night at “Ovations.” Thanks to Thomas Helton and Third Coast Noise for setting up the show. Pretty good turnout and it was a fun night. The performance of Old River / Lost River was a success.

Nathaniel Bartlett

On Saturday Jan 18th, AMODA is pleased to present virtuoso marimbist Nathaniel Bartlett, for an evening of singing wood fused with state-of-the-art electro-acoustic sound. Bartlett is an accomplished percussionist, but his work is no typical solo marimba repertoire. Bartlett brings the instrument into the realm of the unreal through the use of advanced digital sound processing and 3D audio projection. A custom dual-display computer monitor has replaced the traditional music stand, allowing the score to change dynamically in response to the parameters of the electronics. Ultra-high fidelity sound generation in 8 channels will immerse listeners in a sound world more vivid than that of a theatre presentation, the auditory equivalent of an IMAX movie versus a home television set.

WHAT: AMODA Performance Series featuring Nathaniel Bartlett, Marimba & Electronics
WHERE: Ballet Austin at the Firehouse (3002 Guadalupe)
WHEN: Saturday, January 18th, 8pm – 10pm
ADMISSION: $8 for AMODA Members/Students, $10 general
